Bowl Playoff System: Week 7

Well my friends, we lost yet again to the Hokies. Let's take some time to reflect on a mediocre but not horribly disappointing season for the rebuilding Wahoos. The offense put up over 400 yards a game, second in the ACC! The victory over Miami gave potential recruits a chance to see what C'Ville and the Cavaliers are capable of. And finally, most of our losses were teasingly close, indicating that we are not that far away from the rest of the conference.

As for the national picture, what a crazy week! Rivalry week was highlighted by comebacks and missed opportunities. Boy I love college football, now let's settle it on the field. Enjoy Week 7 of the Lambeth Playoff Poll.

1. (1)  - Auburn (SEC) - The Tigers were down 24-0 at Alabama and won by one, Cam Newton wins the Heisman for that comeback alone

2. (2)  - Oregon (Pac-10) - All that's left to run the table and make it to the title game for the Ducks is the Civil War at struggling Oregon State

3. (3) TCU (Mountain West) - Another huge win and a gift from Boise State give the Frogs a potential shot at the title game or the Rose Bowl

4. (4) Stanford - After blanking the Beavers, Stanford has assured itself of a BCS game; like that university needs more money

5. (5) Wisconsin (Big Ten) - The BCS rankings have now all but given the Badgers a Big 10 title through tiebreaker

6. (6) Ohio State - That loss in Madison cost the Buckeyes another Rose Bowl

7. (7) Arkansas - Beating the rival LSU Tigers has Bobby Petrino tasting the sweet Sugar of New Orleans

8. (8) Michigan State - Having beaten Wisconsin, it seems unfair that Sparty falls short of a title; but a blowout loss at Iowa was embarrassing enough for me to keep them out

9. (9) Oklahoma (Big 12) - Big win in Bedlam gives the Sooners anothers shot at a Big 12 title next week

10. (10) LSU - The Tigers still have a sniff of the BCS, despite a rivalry loss at Arkansas

11.  (11) Boise State (WAC) - Holy shit, did you see this game? Poor kicker and poor Boise

12. (16) Virginia Tech (ACC) - Fuck the Hokies; but they have won 10 in a row now

13, (25) Northern Illinois (MAC) - Finally some BCS love for the MAC!

14. (N/A) Connecticut (Big East) - All to play for in the Big East next weekend

15. (N/A) UCF ( C-USA) - The Knights play SMU in the C-USA title game next weekend

16. (N/A) FIU (Sun Belt) - The Golden Panthers have sealed their spot in our tourney by winning the Sun Belt
